During my time at the hospital with Journey, I encountered other parents who, like me, were called to the hospital unexpectedly and without much preparation. We were frequently without any belongings besides the clothes we were wearing. In such situations, I felt powerless and embarrassed. It was difficult to focus on my own concerns when my baby was going through her own struggles, and I felt guilty for doing so. Although I had hoped to be better prepared, life doesn't always provide us with clear indications of when or why things will happen. It was during my frequent stays in the hospital that I resolved to initiate Journey's Heart. Two questions came to mind: 1. WHAT ABOUT the people who lack daily hygiene necessities? 2. WHAT CAN I do to help people in need?
